University Park is a town located in
Prince George's County, Maryland. As of
the
2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,318.
University Park is located at 38°58'17"
North, 76°56'36" West (38.971381, -76.943399)1.
According to the
United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area
of 1.3
km˛ (0.5
mi˛). 1.3 km˛ (0.5 mi˛) of it is land and none of it is
covered by water.
The current mayor of University Park is
John Brunner.
University Park has one elementary
school, a public tennis court and a park. It is bordered by
College Park,
Hyattsville and certain unincorporated parts of
Prince George's County.
As of the

2000, there are 2,318 people, 877 households, and 637
families residing in the town. The
population density is 1,790.0/km˛ (4,677.5/mi˛). There
are 898 housing units at an average density of 693.4/km˛
(1,812.1/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 85.46%
